Overview

We work closely with clients to gain a deep understanding of their business. Our agile approach and mature technology enable us to tailor elegant solutions to intricate problems. Discover how we combine digital tools and scientific modeling to unlock huge value in your supply chain.

Iterative and feedback driven

A key principle of our approach is to build an end-to-end prototype of the solution’s core transaction as early as possible during the Development Phase. This gives all stakeholders a concrete implementation of the assumptions and decisions that were made in the preceding Design phase.

Based on their feedback, every subsequent iteration deepens the solution until it is ready to go live.

Approaching projects with an explicitly iterative, rather than linear, approach helps us avoid the alignment and scope issues that cause many software projects to fail.

Reduced risk and higher quality

We deliver 100% on time and budget

Imagine a simple system with two modules, such as a plug and socket. The linear approach is to first build the socket then start building the plug. Our experience shows that quality and efficiency improvements can be made if both components are built in unison and regularly reviewed as a connected system. Each review of the whole uncovers opportunities to improve the design and reduce risk of incompatibilities.

Agile business thinking

We gradually introduce domain experts to our Agile process, even if they have no experience of working with Agile before.

Our methodology empowers domain experts to iterate through details and co-create very robust solutions as a result. Many of our clients report that stakeholders who had been skeptical of Agile methodology have now implemented our version of it across all their projects.

Iterating in the field

H&C are unique because we bring Agile processes to delivery within industrial environments.

Our clients must introduce innovation in highly regulated arenas in which down time and risk are the most critical concerns. Despite this, it is crucial that innovations be iteratively tested and adjusted.

Our deep understanding of these challenges has enabled us to develop techniques for on site testing which do not disrupt critical processes. Depending on the project, we can perform on-site testing after every iteration or every third iteration as the project demands.

First class tools for distributed collaboration

H&C has been a distributed company since 2014. This has enabled us to grow and continue hiring the very best engineers and solution designers in the world. In recent years more and more companies are also forming teams with stakeholders in different parts of the world. Our methodology is designed to work most effectively with remote teams.

Project details are recorded in the H&C web portal, and planning and feedback sessions are conducted via video conferencing. This enables maximum participation and transparent documentation.
